The exact schedule may be adjusted according to weather, park requirements and the group's safety. Summit success is not guaranteed.
Is January a good time to climb Kilimanjaro?
January is generally considered one of the popular periods for climbing Kilimanjaro. Conditions can be favourable, but mountain weather is unpredictable. Rain, cold temperatures, wind and snow at higher elevations are possible.
Prepare with waterproof clothing, warm layers, suitable hiking boots and a good sleeping bag. Your guide will advise you about the conditions and daily preparations.
How should you prepare for the altitude?
Kilimanjaro is a high-altitude mountain, and altitude sickness can affect anyone, regardless of fitness. Walk slowly, stay hydrated, eat regularly and communicate any symptoms to your guide.
The seven-day Machame itinerary includes an acclimatisation profile, but additional time on the mountain can offer further opportunities to adapt. If you have flexibility in your schedule, ask us about longer itineraries.
What should you confirm before booking?
Before reserving your place, ask about the final price, group availability, deposit and balance payment arrangements, airport transfers, accommodation, equipment and insurance requirements.
International flights, visas, personal equipment, tips and insurance are commonly separate costs. Always check the specific inclusions and exclusions in your quotation.
