Vilima Adventure Tours Limited was founded in 2022 in Moshi, Tanzania by Simon Assey, a local tourism professional whose journey started on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Before building Vilima, Simon worked close to the mountain as a senior porter and guide, learning the routes, the pace of safe acclimatization, the teamwork behind every successful climb, and the real care that travelers need before they trust a company with their African adventure.
Simon created Vilima because he wanted guests to experience Tanzania through a team that knows the country from the ground, not only from brochures. From Kilimanjaro treks and wildlife safaris to cultural visits and Zanzibar extensions, the company was built to offer honest advice, careful planning, fair treatment of crew, and personal support from the first message until the final transfer.
